Working from home is a luxury, IF you have the right kind of space and separation from the distractions of home. This Hut had a 75K Budget.
We were able to build for $125/sq ft by taking on some of the hands on elements of the build, such as hiring our own sub contractors, and erecting the Steel Arched Building Kit ourselves. We hired out the most technical parts such as: foundation, electrical, end-wall construction, and drywall. Even within a tight budget we were able to include some luxury design elements like radiant in-slab floor heat, and a huge custom commercial steel door and window assembly to optimize our western mountain views.
We also prioritized sustainability components by spending a little bit more on an innovative spray foam insulation product called Demilec Heatlok Foam, a lower global warming potential product utilizing soy proteins and recycled single use plastics. The R-30 closed cell insulation also creates tremendous heating and cooling efficiencies and savings.
